Now through my experience I know this is going to hit home with a lot of people and I hope this post can help change your mindset on these diets.

Going on a crash diet where you are talked into believing that starving yourself of important nutrients is good for your health happens day in and day out. I am here to tell you that it is not good for your health but actually the complete opposite. Going on this type of diet is inevitably going to burn fat in the first few weeks and that might make you think that it is helping, but once your body gets used the fact that you are now starving yourself your body will soon stop burning fat and instead store it. This is where the term yo yo diet comes from as most people that stick to diets like this will fluctuate in weight constantly.

So the average female needs roughly 1500 calories a day depending on lifestyle just to maintain weight, when you are crash dieting you might have a few days a week where you are not even hitting 500 calories. When you do this you will find it hard to do anything in your life, you won't be focused at work, you'd have no energy to train and before you know it you will be back eating bad foods again as your body will crave it.

Both of these are easily avoidable purely by just eating healthier foods and sticking to a food plan that allows you to eat more calories and will get you results you need in no time.
